Criamontex began its activity in 1995, as a small familiar industrial company dedicated exclusively to sock production, mainly sportswear for export. In spite of the associates’ youth and their tender professional experience, they soon realized that expansion to international markets would be their main line of orientation. Therefore, from a commercial strategy based on exclusive production for sales representatives and agents, Criamontex today centers their production on direct client orders along with an active and dynamic commercial action in foreign markets.

In 1998, as a result of strong investments, Criamontex established their actual factory and modernized their entire productive equipment by installing advanced technology in key areas, such as specialized, highly automated weaving machines for sport and classic sock production. These investments were intended to increase quality output and productivity, having Criamontex, at the moment, a total of 15 of these equipments.

As for their target markets, Criamontex’s production is destined mainly to the European Union. England represented nearly 45% of total sales, followed by Germany and Finland with, respectively, 18% and 9%. Other countries where the company exports to are Belgium, Spain, Luxembourg and Ireland. Domestic sales represent, nowadays, merely 10% of total transactions. As for notorious brands we point out DONNAY and KINDY.

At present, Criamontex, stands amongst Portuguese’s leading companies that are dedicated exclusively to sock fabrication and is characterized by its production capacity, dynamism and adaptability to the needs of a society in permanent mutation, allowing, therefore, complete satisfaction of their clients.

Today, Criamontex is a reference company for sock production in Portugal.
